Visitors Book

  • We had such a great time! Willem was so friendly and Martha made us roosterkoeke and bread and it was unbelievable!

We also hiked to the waterfall and it was so beautiful.

The best of all was that there were no signal. :) We will definitely come again and will recommend the place to all our friends.

  • Many thanks, we have just returned home after a great trip. Your Just for Two Cottage was stunning and we really enjoyed the location and “quaintness” of the cottage. Pity it is so far from Cape Town otherwise we would be regulars! Would still like to come and spend more than one night in the future.

  • We had a fantastic time at the Cob Cottage & are already planning when we can come visit the Just for 2!  As well as a few other places we would love to visit there in Baviaans... we are now 2 books richer,1 on stories & the other on geology of Baviaans.

We walked as far as the pools along the river which was a fantastic experience & the 1st of many hikes in the area I'm sure! As well as a 1st hike for me after many years of not being able to... A truely marvellous experience!  Thank you for making such a wonderful part of nature open for all to find it.

Willem was a wonderful host, telling us awesome stories & happy to answer any questions we had & very concerned when we returned home late. Loved the honey he harvests! & I don't think we will ever forget Marta's wonderful sour bread & roosterbrood, mmm delicious, took it all the way to Cape Town & shared with our friends before heading back to KZN.

Cob Cottage was a thumb-suck choice on the Internet & has so impressed us, we have told everyone we have spoken to. Thank you for creating such a special place like Cob Cottage in such a wonderful setting. We hope u have many years of success.

  • Thanx for the great stay in Cedar Farmhouse.   We enjoyed our time there thoroughly.  Pity I have to work again tomorrow otherwise we would have loved to have stayed a little longer..

Willem was also a great 'manager'.

  • We had a super time at your farm.   We'd travelled thru the Kloof on a very hot day and were so relieved to find this little piece of heaven.  The hospitality (and cool dam) on arrival was perfect.  Martha and Willem are excellent hosts and the food is brilliant. We went for the marathon hike to the waterfall early the next morning and it was an experience we will never forget.  We're so happy we decided to make the effort. We'd love to come back to visit again and spend a little longer there next time.

  • This was our first trip to Bavianskloof and we found it amazing. The project made very interesting reading and found Cob Cottage very comfortable, warm and cozy especially as it was cold and windy outside.

We did our trip all wrong, as we did not allow enough time to explore the immediate surrounds, so there will be another trip and visit to Cob Cottage.

    Well done and thanks

  • Cob Cottage was above all our expectations – it really blew us away!! – next time we need to spend more time there, 1 night was just not enough!  Willem and Marta had everything 100% under control and all catering requirements were met perfectly – despite Marta’s fathers passing.  The early morning  hike to the “running man” painting was both educational and entertaining – really enjoyed Willems commentary about life in the kloof!

  • The experience at the Just for Two cottage in the Baviaanskloof was something that my wife and I would never forget.  The hospitality of the people and the food were great.  If the time is right, we would like to visit again.  We already ‘advertised’ this adorable cottage and the scenery to family and friends who are now also eager to go there and experience themselves.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Just for Two, it was really very special. We are about to have our first child in July and our trip was a last getaway as just the two of us (or two and a half really!). We particularly enjoyed our baths under the stars and the loo with the view! I think you have done the cottage beautifully, just the right mix of simplicity and comfort. I’ve already recommended your place to several friends and relatives.

  • We had such a splendid time. Its completely magical there.

I wish the weather had allowed for a swim in the waterfall pool for me, but I will have to return to experience that. My husband Paul and the men did go up to the waterfall and loved it.

My highlights were the labyrinth - spectacular! and the Bushman paintings/ hike led by Willem. The veld is stunning at the moment FULL of flowers everywhere.

The great thing about staying in the Barn was its spaciousness - even when the wind prevented us from being outdoors we could all be comfortable and not on top of each other, indoors and have a fire in the hearth.

That said, the fire pit outdoors is great and was used with big enthusiasm.

The basics you have got so right: the things that can make or break your experience: a VERY comfortable bed, good linen and down duvet....wonderful.

Good furniture: sofas and that enormous dining table!!!

We all unanimously agreed that we'd like to return.
