Visitors Book

  • It was a real treat to stay in the house which is so wonderfully appointed.  We enjoyed conversations with Willem and the fire he lit for us in the lounge was a real treat.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and all four of us would have liked to stay at least one more day.

  • Thank you, we had a wonderful stay at the cob cottage.  Wish it could be longer though.  Next time we will not drive through the Kloof but rather stay for the weekend.  Willem was great and we enjoyed his stories.  Martha's food was excellent!!  Nothing that we can say negative!

  • We loved the guest house. It was comfortable and we felt very much at home. The gas water heaters work very well, which in my experience is quite amazing and the kettle top whistle takes you right back in time. We also loved the wildlife around it. You have so many different birds in your beautiful garden. We also saw the black eagles when walking the Labyrinth and also bathed in the river. We watched the tortoises grazing on the clover in the field across the house. As soon as the sun sets behind the mountain, they squeeze underneath the fence and hide in the bushes in your garden for the night. We made friends with the horses and watched the little lambs jumping around in the meadow.   Thank you for a beautiful weekend.

Marta’s food was delicious, especially the lamb potjie and the veg pie and I even tried a few Afrikaans phrases with Willem.

  • Our stay in your wonderfull farmhouse was pure magic. The peace, tranquility and beauty, were all we hoped for and more. Willem and Marta were there to welcome us and were very friendly and helpful. All in all it, was a fab time.Definitely need to come back and explore again.

  • We thought your rustic ‘Just for Two ‘ was gorgeous and very comfortable indeed. We so enjoyed our hike to the Cedar Falls surrounded by stunning scenery – beautiful. We hope one day to be back. Thank you to you and your team for a memorable stay.

  • Thank you, we had a wonderful stay and loved every minute of it. The cottage was perfect and the setting 'to die for'. We walked to the waterfall (or nearly) as we had to swim to get through the other side of the deep kloof then couldn't face the walk to the end to see the falls in bare feet and swimming costumes - too hot and stones too sharp! But we loved it all and saw so much wildlife.

  • Thank you so much for an incredible stay at Cob Cottage. We had a really special time and enjoyed every moment of the stay.  As an Architect myself I really enjoyed reading your book on how it was all built and wish more people could be as insightful and sensitive to the people and the context as you have been - Well done! We really loved the walks, swims, stars, bread and everything about Cob Cottage and will def be recommending it to everyone. Once again please send our thanks to everyone involved - We had a really special time.

  • We had a great time on your farm, it was  a dream come true.

Willem and Martha were excellent hosts and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant.

The cob house was great - the insulation was perfect and the cold never got to us.

We walked all over the property, exploring the old irrigation network, walking up the valleys and marveling at the incredible beauty of the surrounding mountains as it constantly changes with the movement of the sun.

We plan to be back with friends.

  • We had a very good stay in the Just for Two cottage.  We made the most delicious meals in the oven – a Pork Belly of note ;-). And we used the bonfire area with its endless scenery as well. The bathroom is really something different, we had lovely relaxing baths and showers with a fantastic view! Willem told us how to look for the packed stones and off we went on our walk to the waterfall. It was a lovely, and at times, challenging walk but with ‘a pot of gold at the end’!! we swam in the ice cold water in the gorge. It was something truly spectacular and memorable!!! Those mountains are breathtaking !

The farm and the unit were very clean and pretty! I love the special touches in the cottage like the heart patterned out on the bedroom floor and the ever so neatly packed peach-pip stoep.  I would (and already have) recommend Just for Two to anybody and will definitely HAVE to return to the Baviaanskloof !!!!

  • We had such a great time! Willem was so friendly and Martha made us roosterkoeke and bread and it was unbelievable!

We also hiked to the waterfall and it was so beautiful.

The best of all was that there were no signal. :) We will definitely come again and will recommend the place to all our friends.
