Visitors Book

  • We absolutely loved staying at the Cedar Guesthouse. You have a beautiful place out there and it was so wonderful to be so far away from phones and shops and the noise and stresses of daily like. It really felt like a retreat both from and into the world. We read lots and walked and swam in the river and did yoga on the stoep. We had a fire every night and gazed at the stars. Bliss. I have a pretty stressful job at the moment and have returned to work today feeling totally rejuvenated. I only need to close my eyes to be back in the secret gorge and waterfall.  Thanks so much for everything. Wilhem did a great job of looking after us too.

  • Thank you, we had a wonderful stay and loved every minute of it. The cottage was perfect and the setting 'to die for'. We walked to the waterfall (or nearly) as we had to swim to get through the other side of the deep kloof then couldn't face the walk to the end to see the falls in bare feet and swimming costumes - too hot and stones too sharp! But we loved it all and saw so much wildlife.

  • My wife and I are always on the look out for a cottage in the mountains. Well Just For Two certainly ticked all the boxes. Absolutely loved the cottage and the countryside. My thoughts kept going back to the history of the place – who lived there originally and what life was like. Even the spade at the braai area was special – made in England but now with an impressive South African handle. I do hope you have no plans to build any accommodation within sight of Just For Two. It is a romantic getaway which takes you back in history and  where one feels at one with nature. Just a pity you are 650 km away from us in Rondebosch but rest assured we will find reason to visit again.

Thank you for the encouragement to support Marta for a meal or two – we did that on Monday evening. Both Willem and Marta do a good job. When we walked the Labyrinth we did think that it is in danger of erosion and becoming a little overgrown but then it also does not need to look like a path at Kirstenbosch. We probably fell short of reaching the waterfall by about 10 or 15 minutes but there will be another time. I must also just compliment you with your communication – the impression we get is that you guys really care about your place and about the client experience.

  •  We [Claire & I] are now back from our trip to the Baviaanskloof and once more noses to the grindstone / at our desks.

Firstly I have to say that your website, communication process and follow-up is excellent.

We had such a good time at Just for Two Cottage. It was exactly what we needed - and the type of accommodation and location that we adore.

We managed to relax, walk and mountain bike and take a great ride home through the Nature Reserve yesterday on our way back home.

We were very lucky with the weather - the days were beautiful. The nights were also stunning but a little more challenging as it was so cold - but we managed to survive them.

Willem was excellent - a real asset [but I guess that you have heard that a few times before].

We will definitely return. It is such a stunning spot and lots to explore and do in the surrounding area.

  • We loved our stay on your farm and in the Cedar Guest House.   Willem was a really great host and we enjoyed learning more about the farm through what was written in and on the house.  The Baviaanskloof is a real treasure and we tried to explore as much as we could. It was awesome.

  • Cob Cottage was above all our expectations – it really blew us away!! – next time we need to spend more time there, 1 night was just not enough!  Willem and Marta had everything 100% under control and all catering requirements were met perfectly – despite Marta’s fathers passing.  The early morning  hike to the “running man” painting was both educational and entertaining – really enjoyed Willems commentary about life in the kloof!

  • I would just like to let you know that we had the most wonderful time.  We went with friends and we were all so sad to leave, having had the most happy, peaceful, restorative and magical time.  You have an incredibly beautiful property with such a healing energy.  We are already making plans to go back.
Kindest regards and thank you for giving us the opportunity to experience what you have created.

  • Just for two cottage was absolutely perfect. What a gem! We loved the whole ethos of Cedar Tourism, the beautiful surroundings and the total 'escape factor' with no electricity and no phone signal. The trip to the waterfall was an unexpected and fun adventure, and the waterfall itself was stunning. On top of everything, Willem and Maarta were very helpful and attentive without being intrusive. We bought some really good honey and an awesome loaf of bread from them. Simple pleasures! We live in Scotland, but you can be sure we'll be back!

  • We had a very enjoyable stay thank you. The daytime temperatures were very high, but the cottage was cool. The hike to the waterfall was a highlight. The cottage and surrounds were very neat and tidy on our arrival, Willem was an attentive host. We popped in at Vero’s shop on the Baviaanskloof road, well done on this wonderful initiative; Veronica says that business is good!

  • Thanks for your mails. The "just for two" is a very very special place. It is simply the most beautiful cottage we have ever stayed in! Add to that, complete quiet, the sounds of nature and stars, and you get total bliss!  It probably goes without saying the cottage was very neat and clean.  Willem and Martha was kind hearted and friendly. Always eager to have a chat! We will definitely be back, and with some family and friends!
